When I was a boy, with an enormous imagination, I often dreamed and created things to do, as most boys my age did, But I was fortunate enough to have an older brother and when you add two to the equation, my dreams became a reality, adventure, excitement and journey into mysterious and unfamiliar areas. We were not your typical, stay at home kids, as you will soon discover. We did, in our 50 years together, what others only read or dream about. We moved from Southern California to Yuba City in the early 60's, trading concrete for fields, trees, rivers and mountains. I will keep my promise and tell all of our adventures, some thrilling and full of suspense, other stories are mysterious and, somewhat, magical in a sense. But we did what you are going to read about, along with some picture's and fact's, you are about to begin, yet another journey, this time with me. Imagine silence screaming out to you, walls bearing down on your back, your mind closing to a point of nothingness as you look outwards in a blank stare. But then my brother looks up at me, and in a very frail voice says, “Hold me in your memories and I will always be here”. That is when I decided to embrace death with this simple response, “I will tell your story brother”. No easy task is without risk; in this case, it was my soul, heart, and love of my brother on the line. We were so close, soul mates from the start, and did so much in our fifty years together. Growing up, we were two untamed explorers that stuck together, without trepidation, and did the most fascinating things. Things that will take many books to explain due to the thrill and enthusiasm involved in our lives. Adventures, journeys, daunting moments, history, disserted cabins, caves, castles….etc.. No taunting task, I keep thinking, but one that has to be told. A high profile attorney, a retired major in the military, a local hero as quoted in the newspaper (profiled in the Sacramento Bee, 7/2006) My brother was unstoppable, going all the way, me right behind in my own career. Yes, I will tell of our stories but it will be my life long task to create this special time we shared together in a way that others can understand and enjoy reading about. Book # 1 "Brother To Brother, Tom and Jeff" is the first step, the introduction book to the novels that will soon follow. Book 1 is a who, when, and why book, introducing the reader to some short stories, the characters and setting of these two young explorers. There are poems in book one that are, actually, short stories within and each is from the heart so you could say, it's a perfect start. Upcoming releases Book # 2 "The Adventures of Tom and Jeff, The Scouts" (Completion date, approx., June, 2008) is sure to keep you on the edge of your seats, non stop reading as nine boy scouts, are left alone in the mountains, without any adult supervision. My brother and I decide to do something that was off limits to everyone, danger, suspense, being lost and finding the unexpected. What makes this story exciting is the fact that, "IT'S A TRUE STORY".
